Set on a sloping block, this contemporary home is organised around a strong blockwork spine wall that anchors the plan and is expressed internally as a defining architectural element. The design steps naturally with the land, creating a split-level arrangement at the rear where the kitchen and dining areas flow seamlessly onto a covered terrace, with the master bedroom positioned above to enjoy elevated outlooks.
A long, sweeping skillion roof shelters the home, unifying its forms and framing generous pop-out windows that draw light deep into the interior. Galvanised iron is used as the primary façade material, giving the house a crisp, durable, and distinctly Australian character, softened by warm timber floors and grounded by polished concrete in the rear living zone.
At the heart of the home sits a vibrant, colour-rich kitchen—its stainless steel benchtops and playful palette inspired by the clients’ child and crafted as a lively centrepiece for family life. Thoughtful materials, clean lines, and strong indoor–outdoor connections come together to create a refined, uplifting piece of contemporary architecture tailored to its site and its people.
